From Chaos to Confidence: How Planning Changed My Life

There was a time when I was holding everything together—but just barely.

On the outside, I looked organized:

  • coaching

  • working

  • managing family schedules

  • running events

  • saying “yes” to everyone

But internally? I felt scattered, reactive, and constantly behind.

I wasn’t lazy. I wasn’t unmotivated. I was overwhelmed—and I didn’t have a system that supported the life I was actually living.

Planning changed that.

Not overnight. Not perfectly. But deeply.

The Chaos Phase (You Might Recognize This)

Before I planned intentionally, my weeks looked like this:

  • I planned practices… but not my energy

  • I remembered things… until I didn’t

  • I carried everything in my head

  • I ended most weeks exhausted and frustrated

I was always responding instead of leading.

And the worst part? I felt like I should be doing better—because I cared so much.

The Shift: Planning Became a Tool, Not a Task

Everything changed when planning stopped being about productivity—and started being about support.

I stopped asking:

“How do I fit more in?”

And started asking:

“How do I make this week feel doable?”

I began planning:

  • my priorities instead of just my to-do list

  • my leadership instead of just logistics

  • my time and my capacity

That’s when confidence started to replace chaos.

What Planning Actually Gave Me

Planning didn’t give me a perfect life.

It gave me:

  • Clarity – I knew what mattered this week

  • Boundaries – I could say no without guilt

  • Confidence – I trusted myself to handle what came next

  • Calm – even when things went sideways

I wasn’t guessing anymore. I had a plan—and permission to adjust it.

Confidence Doesn’t Come From Control

This is important.

Confidence didn’t come from controlling everything. It came from knowing I had a place to put things:

  • ideas

  • worries

  • plans

  • goals

  • reminders

When my brain wasn’t overloaded, I showed up better:

  • as a coach

  • as a leader

  • as a mom

  • as a human

Planning became an act of self-respect.

Why I Created a Planner for Coaches

I couldn’t find a planner that worked for the real life of a cheer coach.

I needed something that understood:

  • unpredictable schedules

  • emotional labor

  • leadership responsibility

  • constant decision-making

So I built one.

Not to make coaches “do more”—but to help them feel steady, prepared, and confident.

Because when the coach feels grounded, the team feels it too.

If You’re in the Chaos Season…

Let me say this clearly:

You’re not failing. You’re carrying a lot.

Planning won’t fix everything—but it can give you a solid place to stand while you figure things out.

That’s what it did for me.

And that’s why I believe in it so deeply.
